Different Types of Industrial coding and printing Machines

by David Botham Writer
Industrial Coding and printing machines are batch printing, marking and date printing used in a number of applications. Pharmaceutical companies and packaging industries use them to print Batch No., Mfg Date, Exp. Date, and Retail Price etc on plain, laminated and many other types of surfaces.

Industrial coding and printing machines are used for a number of packaging operations. There are different kinds of coding as the type of surface and the type of ink changes. The coding and printing devices are divided mainly into two main types:

1. Contact

2. Non-contact

Contact Industrial Coding and printing machines have Printheads that need to be in contact with the printing substrates to print on it. These systems use some letters made up of metal, rubber or ink media to make impressions. These are offset printers and a mirror image is printed onto the surfaces.

Non-contact Industrial Coding and printing machines can print on products without coming in contact of the product surface. Normally these machines use laser beams or ink sprays for coding. The products for printing need to be conveyed at a constant speed and a sensor detects as the products arrive and the printing.

They are further sub categorized into following types depending upon the kind of their operations.

· Automatic Industrial Coding and printing machines:

Once set, performs instantly with the operator only having to look after its operating and settings. Providing, publishing, gathering operation is done instantly, however these features vary in different makes of devices.

· Semi automatic Industrial Coding and printing machines:

The Industrial Coding and printing machines performs on its own but the feeding and gathering has to be done personally.

· Hand operated or manually Industrial Coding and printing machines:

Feeding as well as Industrial Coding and printing machine is personally managed. They are suitable for small production and can be portable.

· Online Industrial Coding and printing machines:

These devices perform instantly in line with other Industrial Coding and printing machines or they can be of the continuous kind with feeding by other device, personally or other feeding mechanism, but are integrated or attached in line with other online machines.

Among the new kind of systems there are systems that help label printers improve profitability through sales growth while reducing production cost by removing operational complexity. These systems use UV curable inks to achieve high-impact color images. It also produces small point size text printed with a crisp edge definition, and nominal 1200dpi image from four variable drop sizes for grayscale. These systems also allow improved Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) using the newest Piezo Drop on Demand (DOD) non-contact publishing remedy. This remedy uses less moving parts than other traditional or even digital publishing technology, according to the company. Also, surrounded create segments allows to prevent dirt.

Other modern day Industrial Coding and printing machine features include: an electronic front end using Esko Artwork; interface with a variety of brand stocks; low device cost of production; no just click charges; and automated washing and capping.
