With the level of water constantly depleting it is no longer free but with each passing day it is becoming dearer. To minimize loss of it and also to conserve water, you should use fixtures and fittings that minimize water wastage. Moreover, leakage of water poses a considerable threat to the structure of the building especially under floor boards, basements, ceilings that not only damages the structure due to mold and dry rot but also causes environmental destruction. Water alarms and leak detectors can save you from such problems by sending early signals before substantial damage is caused to the structure, electronics and other materials in the house.

Spot Leak Detectors

Spot leak detectors are specific water detection alarm that can detect any water leak at any single point. Such detectors are used in areas like floor drains, drip pans or in any such area where water tends to converge in the confined areas. There are two probes that extend towards the floor and usually have an adjustable bracket to support. It is suited to detect different water levels and is the most economic device suited for specific applications. If you do not have a wide area to monitor leakage these detectors are perfect for you for its small and precise range.

Hydroscopic Tape Based Alarm

This is also called HTB water detection alarmwhere the alarm is triggered when it is exposed to moisture or water. It frequently fastens the water sensitive tape to the structures that are prone like pipes and water containers. The coverage area is more than other variants and these alarms are very sensitive as well. These alarms are so sensitive that it can even trigger false alarms with minimal exposure to water due to condensation and therefore requires optimal environment for its proper functionality.

Under Carpet Leak Detectors

This is a special leak detector alarm which is similar to the spot detectors but have a more sleek, slim and compact design. It does not have any adjustable height as it is fitted seamlessly under the coverings of the floor. Once again there are two probes that send immediate signals when any conductive liquid comes in contact and connects the circuits within. Such devices require careful and very strategic placements as it covers and very limited area.

Leak Detection Cables

These are rope like sensors which are used to cover wide open area. The advantage of such cables is that it can be directly connected the water supply as well as the return lines. This enables these to cover large areas that may have multiple leak points. The mechanism of such cables has only two detection cables that are the sensing wires that run concentrically around the cables that acts as a switch for both the wires and connects the circuit between the cables.
