Fitted sheet: Fitted sheet or bottom sheet is a sheet that comes with an elastic edge and fits on the mattress. Since today’s mattresses are thicker, check the measurement before purchasing a bottom sheet to ensure it stretches on your mattress.

Bedspread: Bedspreads are thin decorative coverings, which usually cover up the entire bed & touches the floor as well. Chenille, cotton, polyester or wool are some common materials of a bedspread.

Coverlet: This is a decorative fabric covering, which doesn’t touch the floor or cover up the pillows in general. Quilts and woven coverlets fall in this section. Usually, these are bed accents & they sit on top of the bedspreads. These are found at food of a bed in the bedding of a hotel room – where they are used as a foot runner.

Blanket: A blanket adds warmth. Some people use it just like that while others prefer topping it up with an attractive quilt, duvet or comforter. A blanket is usually made up of cotton, wool, microfiber plush, polyester or a blend of various fibres.

Duvet cover: The cover is used for encasing and protecting the duvet. It comes with an opening for the duvet or the comforter to be inserted. After the duvet is placed inside, the opening is closed either with buttons or with a zipper. Duvet covers are usually quite decorative & are available in a wide range of styles and colours. They take the place of a top sheet in England.
