Different co-reference for diameter:
Pipe's diameter means the nominal diameter and it's not actual. The actual physical outside diameter is larger than the nominal OD.
Tube's diameter refers to the actual outside diameter. So its actual physical OD is same with the nominal one.
Different accommodate application with size:
Pipe's accommodate large application with sized that range from a half-inch to several feet.
Tube's size is generally used in applications that require smaller diameters.
