The importance of water heater can be realized during winter. You need hot water for bathing, washing and for almost every work. There are two types of water heaters available at market: storage water heater and instant tankless water heater. You may get confused what to buy. Go through the detail descriptions of these two types of heaters and know the differences between these.

Storage Water Heaters
The common water heaters, available at market, are storage heaters. You can get 20 to 120 gallons from this insulated tank. The top of the heater is stratified with hot water while the bottom with cold water. Due to this function, users can get hot water consistently until that comes to an end. But, there is a problem with storage water heater. Hot water in the storage tank loses heat sooner and become cold. It is true that the tank is insulated, but the difference of temperature o the tank walls make water lose temperature fast and become cold. If you use gas-fired storage water heaters, the standing pilot lights keep water hot for more time, but that is not enough too.

Instant Water Heaters
To get the difference from the storage heaters, let’s have a look on the advantages and disadvantages of the instant water heaters-

  • One of the most important benefits of instant water heater is that, it gives you hot water instantly and the machine never runs out of hot water.
  • This type of water heater also saves on your electricity bill. There is no wastage of heat as there is no storage device to store water. A consumer report has stated that gas-fired tankless water heaters use almost 22% less heat than the storage water heaters.
  • These water heaters are small and good looking. So, they don’t disturb the interior decoration of your bathroom.
  • No matter how small your bathroom is, this type of water heaters can be installed in small and cozy place.
  • Another advantage of instant water heater is that it is quite comfortable to your pocket than its storage counterparts. The price of instant water heaters starts from Rs. 2600, when the starting price of storage heaters is Rs. 6000.
  • If you belong to a small family, instant tankless water heaters are the best choice to get incessant hot water flow.

Though this device benefits you a lot, there is a disadvantage of the machine. Instant water heaters can provide very little amount of hot water. You can’t get enough water if you need for several things to do. Now, when a device has so many benefits, you can get along with this problem easily, right?
Therefore, it is clear that you should buy a water heater that goes according to your regular need. If you need hot water for your whole household, then instant water heater is not the right thing to buy. Go for storage water heaters.
