Image The International Baccalaureate( IB) offers a curriculum framework which is forwards and outwards in its approach. It aims to develop individuals who will need to think further into the future, implement ideas in a timely manner and remain competitive in a world that will change faster than we can understand .Student learning in IB is focused on understanding at a conceptual level, application of the learned knowledge, gaining a world view and developing the ability to apply alternative and multicultural viewpoints to situations. This curriculum equips students with the tools such as self-confidence, research and thinking skills, organisational skills and become nimble learners. Besides this it helps students construct a foundation of values like being open-minded, balanced, courageous and caring which are so needed in this complex and globalised world. In this view the IB is very relevant in today’s time.

Some national and state boards in India are very knowledge based and examination oriented whereas IB programmes are about what to do with that knowledge. These programmes give students many opportunities to engage in service activities to help the community. There are a lot of opportunities to develop presentational skills in the IB that you need in business and at workplace.

IB programmes offer students multiple educational opportunities to reason, think, make ethical decisions, to reflect and set challenging goals, judgements, to learn to respect themselves and respect and care for others. IB programmes allow teachers to plan, strategize and scaffold the skills students need to develop through the curriculum.  The IB Diploma gives students   access to the top colleges and universities in India and the world.
