Did you check the taste & TDS level of your Water Purifier Regularly?

The Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purifiers have become an integral part of our life. In urban areas, where drinking water is too salty and hence need to be converted and purified into soft drinking water, RO systems are largely in use. Though, it hasn’t become that popular in the rural areas of India as of now. However, the need is being felt in view the rising life threatening water borne diseases particularly in rural parts of the country.

Is having a water purifier enough?

Is having a domestic or Commercial RO water purifier enough? Well, it’s certainly not. You have to regularly check its functioning, taste of water, and TDS level, etc. If the taste of water is bad, you should immediately get your water purifier checked as it may be due to malfunctioning of your machine.

Also, regularly check the TDS Level of your water on a regular basis it must be balanced, i.e. not too less (below 50 ppm) or too high (above 500 ppm). Well, there is lot of contradiction in the opinion of experts about the TDS level of water. A few experts recommend it between 50-150 ppm, others say, till 300ppm or 500ppm is safe for drinking. Consult with the manufacturer of RO Water Purifiers to find out the recommended level for your system. Also, keep an eye on the other operational defects of purifier, i.e. noisy operation, leakage, etc.

Regular Maintenance of RO water purifier is necessary

Make certain that you regularly service and maintain your RO water purifier. Change the filter in due course of time. Also, membranes should be changed in 2 years. These are small, but every important things, that will keep your RO system health and ensure the delivery of pure, safe and health drinking water all the time.
