Dhikala is the most popular wildlife area in Jim Corbett national park and is the only zone in Corbett where forest department conducts the canter safari as well. Dhikala is well famous for its variety of Fauna & Flora and the grass land which is spread in acres. One can reach Dhikala from Dhangarhi gate is which is around 18 Kms from the Ramnagar area.

Dhikala offers 4 different rest houses to the visitors.
1. Dhikala forest rest house
2. Sarapduli forest rest house
3. Gairal forest rest house
4. Sultan forest rest house.
Dhikala forest lodge
Dhikala forest rest house is around 30 KMs from the Dhangarhi gate and offers dozen of rooms to its guests in multiple categories from Hutment to new FRH to old FRH and dormitories as well.
Kitchen facility is available at Dhikala FRH and costing is also pocket friendly for the tourists. Dhikala FRH is sourrouned by fence and it is situated at the bank of River Ramganga which is considered lifeline of Dhikala and Corbett Tiger reserve as well. One can spot animals through out the day at the river area during summer and winter both.
Sarapduli forest lodge
Sarapduli forest rest house is around 22 Kms from Dhangarhi gate and offers 2 private rooms and one dormitory consisting of 3 beds for the tourists.
Restaurant facility is not available and you will have to bring raw materials including spices for the cooking. A chef will be available for cooking facility.
Forest department has covered the area by fence and people staying here have enough chances to spot the animals from the campus itself.
Gairal forest lodge
Gairal FRH is around 15 KMs from the Dhangarhi gate and offers 4 private rooms to the guests. One dormitory is also available with 8 beds in total. Restaurant facility is available to serve you meals and snacks.
Forest department has covered the entire area of campus by fence. It also gives you the view of the river which is just behind the campus area. At night you get the soothing voice of river water flowing from your rooms itself.
Sultan forest lodge
Sultan FRH is around 10 Kms from entry gate and offers just 2 private rooms to the guests with no dormitory and restaurant facility.
You will have to bring raw materials including spices for the cooking.
A chef will be available for cooking facility. The complete area is covered by fence and sighting of animals from the campus is very common through out the day.
Type of safaris at Dhikala forest rest house
Forest team conducts two types of safaris here. First one is canter safari which is a 16 seater tempo/bus covered from top and open from sides for the view.
Jeep safari is the second option of visiting the park but only limited to people staying at one of the forest house in Dhikala zone.
People staying at private hotels/resorts have option to visit by canter safari only.
Canter safari is usally of 5 hours from Ramnagar to Ramnagar and jeep safari inside is approx 3.5 to 4 hours.
