They offer prayers and flowers to Goddess Ganga and light diyas or clay lamps on the stairs of the ghats ,as the sun goes down in the evening. This makes  a mesmerizing sight  on the ghats imparting  a gleaming disposition to the ambiance with thousands of glittering diyas. Apart from the alluring ghats all the magnificent temples are well decorated and illuminated.
