Decorating Your Home with Chandelier

by Grace Dan LED consultant
A chandelier adds depth to your interior design scheme by drawing the eye upward and providing a functional piece of hanging art. Many chandeliers are ornate and traditional, but you can purchase or create a chandelier that reflects your personal style and complements the design of your home.

Socket

Create a socket chandelier, to get a quick, do-it-yourself chandelier that creates a big statement. Start out with a single standard ceramic light socket attached to a cord, and make use of socket extenders to make a pattern that radiates from your center. After your hold the complete socket extender pattern, screw in bulbs and hang through the cord to have an artistic chandelier. This kind of chandelier is specially useful for rooms with good ceilings, the location where the bold design is not going to overwhelm your room.

Candles

A chandelier lined with glowing candles includes a softening, warming influence on an area. Go with a simple frame to show off the candle lights. A wooden square or possibly a wrought-iron circle are elegant and you should not hinder the flickering light from candles, which may be thick pillars or tiny tea lights. Place this type of chandelier in the room that you gather often, like a dining-room, and where it will be very easy to place a ladder or chair to switch the candles.

Painted

If you are looking for an interesting and modern twist on the traditional chandelier, choose an ornate wooden version and paint it a bold, unexpected color. A bright-red chandelier, as an example, adds instant drama to a black and white room and helps to create a centerpiece. For the biggest impact, pick a color that contrasts with all the base colors of the rest of the room.

Silverware

A funky chandelier made from oldforks and knives, and spoons generates a simple lighting element with dramatic impact. Making it, start with an bicycle rim and drill a series of holes round the rim. Try out spacing as you may start tying to produce different effects. Drill holes inside the handle of each component of silverware and use wire s-hooks to install them to the bicycle rim. You can make a tiered chandelier by using rims of different sizes, or bend the rim into different shapes. By extending wires from the top ring to a hook hung from the ceiling and place a hanging bulb in the center of the chandelier, create a hanger.

Branch

Chandeliers constructed from tree branches attract a sophisticated natural element to your residence. This sort of chandelier has lights wired into the branches and, when hung, seem to float above your dining-room table or about the ceiling of any room. Tree branch chandeliers are the best hung at a relatively low height above a sitting area or table.
