In the times of calamities and critical situations, these institutions reach out to the effective areas in the form of monetary aid and health camps.

Healthcare infrastructure in India has been continuously receiving support from such charitable trusts like Fortis, which has been supporting charitable medical infrastructure with its venture Chhaya. It has offered constant support in situations like: 

Supporting those who cannot afford the increasing cost of medical services.

Remote areas where the availability of sustainable health services become difficult.

Complexity of modern medicine from where the need of spreading awareness rises.

Natural calamities which require additional support apart from government funds.

The target audience of such institutions is the economically weaker section which needs constant support to take care of their medical needs starting from an infant to the senior section. Some of the recent ventures organized by the group have been:

December 2015: Camp for Blood Tests, BMI and Doctors examination and reports.

February 2016: Health Camp for eye checkup.

March 2016: A dental and general check-up which treated a total of 374 students and faculty.

Hypertension and Diabetes screening camp at Malligai Poo nagar, Chennai.

Apart from health camps, they aim to popularize preventive measures with the help of awareness programs on various issues of health and hygiene. Foundation makes use of the following:

Visual media: Street Plays & Puppet shows to involve children into the learning’s along with their families.

Targeting different age groups to emphasize issues and medical conditions which they can relate-to, better.

General and specific health awareness camps that focus on issues like Dengue, eye, ear, dental problems, HIV AIDS, Reproductive health care etc., among the others. 

While government throughout the nation is taking steps to improve healthcare of its citizens, these Health Camps are making a huge contribution in dealing with high costs and inconsistent quality of health care services, helping the community live a healthier life.
