Custom Rom for Canvas HD

Micromax Canvas HD A116 is dual-sim Android device in indian market by Micromax Mobile that supersedes the Micromax Canvas 2 A110Q.
Micromax Canvas HD A116 has a large 5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with resolution of 1280x720.The screen is protected by Sodaline scratch resistant coating but as compared to the Gorilla Glass it's not good in protecting the display of this device. The bottom has three capacitive buttons -HOME, MENU, BACK. The Canvas HD is curved at the edges and back panel is made of plastic with matte or glossy with white finish. at the top a 3.5mm jack for earphones and a USB port for chargin and data transfer. This device has a Micromax branding, 8 Mega Pixels with auto focus and LED flash at the back. There is also a 2 Mega Pixels secondary camera at the front for video calls. There is also a light sensor to control screen brightness. Notification LED beside speaker on the phone.

Hardware
It have a quad core Mediatek MT 6589, Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor. The chipset of canvas HD is very capable but we cannot be compared to the Galaxy S4, Grand or Sony Xperia Z's processor. A dual core A9 processor is almost equals to A7 quad core processor. Games are smoothly running in this smartphone, I have played so many games of high graphics on it and I have not experienced any lags or hanging. You cannot directactly install apps on the external memory but this can be possible by rooting the device (however after rooting the warrenty will void).

Screen Quality / Resolution
Micromax Canvas A116 comes with 5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display. The screen looks very good and alive. The viewing angles are also good. The 720p resolution device can beats almost all other quad core smartphones (such as Karbonn Titanium S5 or Xolo Q800),

Camera
8 MP, 3264 x 2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash. The 8 Mega Pixel camera in Canvas HD is not good as it should be. Samsung Grand phone's camera is better than canvas HD. Shooting quality in the low-light is like a nightmare and the camera engine used by company a little over saturates the picture. Sometimes the camera of canvas HD overexposes the picture quality. It has Manual touch for focu, this is a plus point and the camera quality is better than the Canvas 2.

If you want to do something extra like you want to install custom ROM in canvas A116. Then you can easily change stack ROM to custom rom. there are so many ROMs for canvas HD ( SamHD Custom ROM, canvas 4 rom and so many)

Conclusion
Canvas A116 is probably the good one you can get in the Rs. 15000 price range (yes, even better than Samsung Galaxy Grand). But, if you brand lover and think about reputation and showing off then canvas HD is not for you because Micromax is still considered "chinese phone" by some indan people.
