Critical Reflection Professional Competency Development
Critical Reflection
Considering my experience about interaction with EMSA international students has played a major role in my Professional Competency Development. The entire experience of visiting the university campus and working on with the colleagues of Bears Matter, cultural proficiency program, and EMSA meeting has enlightened many novel skills. I believe my overall experience has shifted me from an intermediate learner to an advanced one. There is no doubt that my Bears Matter staff discussions, cultural proficiency program development, and presence in EMSA all-staff meetings have brought about new changes in me.
I was at the intermediate level of the Human and Organizational Resources, however; this internship has increased my skills of implementing them at a virtually advanced level. I have learned to improve my skills of understanding strategies by implementing them. I am sure that this change of EMSA program has brought about new skills in me. This program has assisted me in moving towards the next level of competency and in my professional development as well. I started this semester with intermediary level skills of implementing and using strategies to motivate and guide others, however; this interaction with EMSA has boosted me to advanced level of assessing the cost and benefits of present established political alliances and in specific their relationship fostering collaboration and organisational transparency (ACPA, 2010).
Considering my personal mission, the aim is to “understand and make people understand the value of political alliance, which is dependent on the human resources and also that this relation is responsible for collaboration and precision.” I have understood that human resource is of immense value. It is not only restricted to recruitment and hiring of employees or implementation of strategies, but according to my understanding through this program, human and organisational resources have the ability to make or break major factors.
This program has increased my skill to evaluate strategies for making better peer matters in order to decrease the negatives and enhance the positive impact it can have. As I started with my intermediate level of maintaining relationships and reducing conflict, this program has enhanced my skill of conflict management. In political alliances, the major role is to assess the level of complexity and use the relevant information to boost strengths. I think that this course has helped me understand the value of strategic complexity that entails in human resources. This efficiency is definitely going to benefit in the future with an edge over others. I started as an intermediate candidate who just understood human resources a level above from basic.
In conclusion, EMSA has improved my skills of decision-making regarding the human resource aspects, enhanced my conflict management skills, made me understand the value of political alliances and the role it plays. This course assisted me in training my mind professionally to work with toughest challenges and risks. EMSA overall boosted my confidence being a part of Human and Organizational Resources’ student and colleague. The interactions with international students helped me boost my skills of being acceptable towards others’ ideas. This course pushed my strengths, turned my weaknesses to potential, and helped me step the ladder towards advanced level.
