Building your business should not be a huge unattainable chore. But often times small business owners find that they are spinning their wheels when it comes to growing. Once you’ve built your business website and you’ve ensured it’s mobile ready… The marketing comes into play. Good marketing encompasses many different tools that will provide quick, efficient ways to engage and communicate with new potential customers and those that are already on your list.Creating a list is the first step to building a long lasting client relationship. The tools you select for your business growth should be easy to implement and ready to help you promote. Some of these tools will provide you with an instant connection to new customers, and other tools will offer solutions for the long tern relationship. The key is to first get visitors to your website and then provide a super good reason for them to get on your list!
Some solutions to get new business to your website include article writing, video submissions, ad offers, and referrals. These solutions can be Organic-free or Paid-for options. Articles written as informational news can be submitted to various news or marketing sites including blogs. Videos that are informative and creative can be submitted to various marketing sites that provide video marketing avenues. Both of these options can be an organic way to market your business. Ad offers are generally paid for solutions, although there are some social networking sites that provide various ways of gaining points which can then be used for advertisements. Paid advertisement can be expensive, so be sure that you have a marketing person who has expertise in this area with proven results. The last marketing solution I mentioned is referrals. Ask your connections to take a look at your web site to quickly evaluate and then have then suggest a referral that would be willing to do the same or perhaps be a “Best Fit” to your offer. Often times you will find an unexpected new customer or lead joining your list through referrals.
Once you get someone to your website… there’s no guarantee written in stone that they will sign up on your list! However, if you create a compelling reason to get them on your list, you will find this can work wonders. In it’s simplest method, you should make an offer to give something of great value to your visitor. Depending on the nature of your business, you want to make the offer relevant to your web site visitor. Remember, that your visitor is not going to give away their contact information for nothing. People tend to think, “What’s in it for me” before they will provide their personal information. A good example would be a restaurant that offers some simple health articles or recipe articles. Most people who like food would be willing to read more information on health or have a simple recipe on hand for those hectic days.
Once someone is on your list, you can use an autoresponder to follow up with your new contacts. Be sure that your autoresponder is relevant to your list. If your business is a restaurant and you offer health solutions or quick and easy recipes, don’t pull the bait and switch and offer them something entirely off base. Of course and offer to visit your restaurant can and should be included, perhaps even with coupons or discounts. But for those people who are avid entrepreneurs with several different businesses, don't’ mix the two in one list directly. If your second business is not exactly related to the current list, you can make a suggestion towards the end of an email to visit your other business site. Giving your list an option to learn more about you or your other business is considered a “soft sell” that doesn’t force people. Just let them decide if it’s a good fit or right for them.
