Create brand identity that stands out

by Rohan Sinha Author
Branding is not just about putting a logo on a product and going out in the market. It is about giving your product or company a unique personality and establishing a distinct position in as someone that attract customers. Creating a brand identity that stands out require you to know your product inside out, who is it meant for and which markets will it sell the most in. Basis that, a complete look of the brand is designed so that it hits the bull’s eye and results in maximizing profits.

With that in mind, here are few steps to keep in mind when creating an identity for your brand which is both strong & distinct.

1)    Focus on brand not product:

The first rule to creating a strong brand appeal is to remember that you are selling your brand and not the product. The product centric approach worked back in the day but with the age of digital you have as less as 15 seconds to make an impression on your potential customers so might as well focus on catching the interest with a strong brand promise. It doesn’t matter how good your product is till the time your brand has not made the impression that would compel the customer to want to know your further.

2)    Create brand personality:

Your brand should always be a reflection of what your brand is really about and that should be given precedence when defining the brand identity. A brand that stands true to its inherit personality will always have a better and deeper connect with its TG than one who is trying to assuming a personality for the sake of remaining in the competition. An authentic brand will always find favor and make the customer click on you instead of the competition.

3)    Have a clear message:

Talking what your consumer wants to listen is important to make your brand find favor with them. Though provoking ideas and relatable topics will make them stop and take a look at you and if they find logic in your talks they might as well want to connect with you in person. Much like how you’d like to gain friends and acquaintances.

4)    Don’t endorse gimmicks:

The customers of today are well-informed and intelligent breed. They no more fall for false promises and gimmicky talks most brands restore to nowadays.  False promotions or tricks can never be substitute for hard work and will only result in damaging the reputation and image of your brand instead of doing it any good.
