COVID-19: Google disable all local reviews

by Jack Roy Digital Marketing Services
Local platform proved to be an important communication tool for COVID 19th pandemic, which allows the company to quickly connect with their local audience about the closure of the store, special Digital Marketing Company Stafford  opening hours, additional measures of health and safety, and more.

Google is focusing its efforts on the local specific features to prioritize, etc Yelp disable support businesses affected by the pandemic, and we have some very good reasons you do not have to mark your business as closed. Here's what you need to know.

Google stopped local reviews, feedback, and Q & A
It seems that Google has taken extraordinary steps to extraordinary times: disable all functions of local review and customer Q & A. Why? Because you want to stem the tide of potentially less harmful information or reviews and questions motivated by disruption or closure related COVID.

With pandemic affect Google itself, it simply does not have the resources to monitor the "new review, review a reply, and a new Q & A", which has been mothballed while. As a replacement:

Our current focus is on the quality and reliability of the information on Google Search and Maps. We want to make sure users and business owners have access to important features such as whether the business is open or has special hours. Learn about best practices for businesses that are affected, and what can you do to keep your customers informed.

Users can still click on "Write a review", but pauses the process after that: nothing is published and businesses are not told. Google has not said when it expects to change the review, feedback, and Q & A returns, but our local clients Attendance Management (and readers) will be the first to know.

Yelp introduced $ 25m relief package and clamp down on COVID review
consumer engagement on Yelp has dropped to a certain category, restaurants especially (down 54%) and night life (down 69%). For that, Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman announced $ 25 million in credit, waived fees, and support for local businesses. Package includes:

advertising fees waived
free advertising
Free access to the upgrade page Yelp
90 days free access to Yelp reservations and waiting lists
$ 100 in advertising free search for restaurants with delivery / takeout
Support for local advertisers "in other categories who are struggling to pay their bills"
Yelp also has updated guideline reviews for "Local businesses protect from harm the reputation associated with exceptional circumstances". Claims that the coronavirus has been transmitted from a business or its employees will not be allowed, and no negative reviews going about the business closed during what would otherwise be their usual opening hours. Marked review will be removed and not counted in the star rating of a business.

Do not mark your business is temporarily closed!
We highly recommend against using a "temporarily closed" designation on Google My Business. This basically freezes the list, causing it to be removed from the local search and prevent the use of Google Posts. In addition, Google is so overwhelmed that it may take some time to turn on the list when normal life back.

Manage special hours on Google My Business

To avoid all these unwanted side effects, the use of "special watch" to mark locations as closed. Also take the opportunity to update the category (for example, if you are takeout only be during a pandemic), business description, and post to keep you in the loop the local audience.

It is certainly unusual and unexpected Digital Marketing Companies Stafford  times, but the local search experts we are always available to help you better connect with your audience-no matter where they are-in their time of need.
