Consumer Forum Ordered To Pay Rs.7.87 Lakhs To Women After Death Of Her Husband
This is a case of Thane consumer court where women file a complaint against the Insurance company after the death of her husband. According to her complaint Insurance company neglect the Insurance claim by putting an inappropriate reason. Women file a consumer complaint against the Insurance company in Thane consumer court. Where president of District consumer dispute redressal forum, Thane ordered Insurance company to pay Rs.7.87 lakhs to women.
Husband of women had taken the insurance policy from United Insurance company. Suddenly he has died in a road accident. When women asked for Insurance claim then Insurance company reject the claim of women and said they found alcohol quantity in the medical report. So they have not accepted the insurance claim of the women.
When women filed her complaint in consumer court then women told to consumer court that her husband has died during the medical treatment after the accident. His husband consumes medicines which contain a very small quantity of ethyl alcohol. It proven by the doctors that quantity of alcohol during medical treatment after consuming some medicines.
The insurance company was unable to any facts in its favor. Due to this reason, consumer court ordered Insurance company to pay Rs.7.87 to Women.
