  1. Applying for too many exams

This is the most common mistake. While preparing for competitive exams, you must ensure that you know your strengths and interest area and accordingly choose the career that best suits you. This will give you more clarity and focus on your preparation.

  1. Understand the syllabus and pattern

After applying for any exam, take a while to understand the pattern of the paper and topics covered. Each exam has different pattern. One Bank exam pattern may be completely different from the other. Once you have a good idea about the syllabus and pattern, you can easily do your preparation.

  1. Not Managing time effectively

Time management is a major step for competitive exam preparation. Make a time table for your study plan. Stick to this daily. Give more time to difficult subjects.

  1. Taking subjects for granted

If you find some subjects easy, don.t take it just for granted. There may be tricky questions from the easy subjects as well. So, the idea here is giving equal importance to all the subjects.

  1. Reading without understanding

Some people read a lot but the essence of reading lies in understanding. If you are reading something, grab the details and understand the article. You must read a good magazine and newspaper daily while noting down important points.

  1. Not taking enough practice papers

Practice makes a man perfect.” Taking previous years sample papers and mock tests will ensure that you get a proper real exam like scenario. This will help in boosting your confidence.Also, you will improve your speed and accuracy.

  1. Not sharing your knowledge

Once you have gained knowledge, engage in open discussions. Share you knowledge as much as possible because “Knowledge grows by Sharing”.

  1. Not being regular

Be regular with your preparation. Each and every moment is precious. Even if you are busy for a day, take some time for your study.

  1. Short cut tricks

Finally, you must learn some short cut tricks which can be applied in numerical, quantitative and statistical problems. This will save your time and gives you enough time to complete the paper and revise properly.
