The snap of a twig, the falling leaves and disappearing sunlight are all the highlights of autumn. It also marks the approaching holidays and merrymaking. But it does bring along with it, its share of problems for your pet and you. Keep your pooch safe this autumn by following these easy tips.

Would you like to go for a ride?
People are often advised that they should not leave their pets alone in the car in the summer, as it is dangerous for the pet. What most people do not know that the colder weathers can be equally dangerous for leaving your pet behind in the car. Cars can get very cold very easily, and dogs need to be kept warm If you have to leave your dog behind in your car, do so in a collapsible dog crate that is warm.

Guests galore
Autumn is the start of the festive season. Thanksgiving and Halloween parties galore mean that you have to play host to a lot of guests. Every guest may not be friendly towards your pet. Also, your dog may get anxious and restless seeing so many people around. The best way to keep your pet engaged is if you keep it in a dog playpen. Make sure to throw in a few festive treats for your pooch as well to make it feel a part of the celebrations.

Warm and fuzzy pet
The decrease in temperature may result in your pet dog contracting several diseases if its health is not paid attention to. Leaving it outside is not a good option as there are many creepy crawlies going around during this season such as fleas, ticks and even a few snakes. Make room indoors for your pet to keep diseases and pests at bay by installing a dog playpen inside your house.

Indoor activity area
The colder weather invariably means fewer hours of sunlight. Since dogs need a stipulated time of exercise, despite the weather, it is best to install a playpen indoors and throw in some engaging toys. This will keep your pet restricted and occupied as well as help channelize all its energy.

Walk with me
Autumn and winter will mean that you have to spend long hours indoors with your pet and the boredom will seep in easily. When you do want to step out and take your pet along, it is best that you do so in a pet carrier. Anti-spill, pesticides and anti-freeze to name a few are some of the fatal dangers awaiting your pet. Avoid the risk of your pet consuming these accidentally by carrying it in a carrier.
