COBRA ODE Cobra 2.0リリース、PS3光学ドライブエミュレータ4.55対応出揃う

PS3向けの光学ドライブエミュレータを開発したTeam CobraとE3 Teamが次のファームウェアアップデートでPS3の4.55に対応するためのCobra 2.0とE3 OS 2.0を近くリリースすると発表していました。

先日公開されたPlayStation 3 システムソフトウェアバージョン4.55でCobra ODEやCobra ODEが動作しなくなったことは既報の通りですが、両チームともほぼ同時期に(発表は1日だけTeam Cobraの方が早かったようです)対策版を公開することになりそうです。

Cobra ODEはE3 ODE PROとは異なり2k5、3k、4kのモデルで問題が発生していましたが、Cobra 2.0では4.55に対応したそうです。公式サイトにはCobra 2.0の機能として下記の内容が書かれていました。

・Cobra MCUでのオートジェネレートブラウザでgenps3extra不要に
・Cobra Managerを利用しブルーレードライブからゲームのダンプが可能に
・XMB対応パススルーモード
・AES暗号モジュールのパフォーマンス改良
・パススルーモードへの切替不要でPS3のファームウェアをアップデート
・4kでのイジェクト機能サポート
・その他不具合修正

4.55に対応したとはいえ、SuperSlimユーザーは必要がなければ4.55へのアップデートは推奨しないとTeam Cobraは言っています。基本的にPS3のファームウェアアップデートで一度は対策されたという事実を考えると、今後イタチごっこが続くものと思われます。
