Cloud Computing Applications

In the past, cloud computing was very centralized and users accessed information from a mainframe computer. Almost 70 percent of Americans use webmail services, store date, and use software programs. These users are making use of cloud computing which data and applications are stored in cyberspace. This allows the user to access them through any device connected to the Internet. Most people are not aware of what cloud computing or what it means. However, users that have Gmail or other email services are taking advantage of it. The data storage is managed by a computer network.
Cloud computing activities consist of storing personal photos online, using applications such as Google documents or Photoshop, and storing videos online. In addition, backing up hard drive and storing files online.
Cloud computing offers convenience, as well as flexibility. At the same time, there are areas of concern. Many users are concerned about their data being sold to a third party, or their photos being used of marketing purposes.
