Hello, my name is Christiana and I work for a London based cleaning company. The tricks below have been gathered from our cleaning teams. I have personally tried and tested them all. My favorite is the one with the oven glove ! I do continue to learn more and more and I will continue to share :) Those tips come from the fountain of professional cleaning services and it is never ending!

Taking the trash out

I presume you have a plastic bag inserted in your rubbish bin. I personally leave the handles outside of the bin so after dinner I just pull them up, tight them up and take the trash near the garage door. It is still inside so no animals can get it and I can throw on my way to work.

Waxing counter tops

You can use candle wax on your counter tops. It gives them a shiny finish and it prevents any dirt sticking in. Even if you spill a bit of coffee or something else, it is way faster to clean if it waxed. This works better on stone counter tops.

Oven Gloves

We use those to clean any surface that needs hard detergent for removing stains and proper finish with other product. For instance if we have a wooden table with some stains on it I would use the oven glove. I would spray detergent on one side and maybe beeswax on the other side. This way I would save time and effort in using two fiber cloths. There is a large number of different fabric gloves that could be used that way. There is even a 6 finger glove to fit your left and right hand. Anyway, a ordinary oven glove works just fine for me...

Cleaning The Toilet

There is no "special" way to do that, but I know a trick for the toilet brush. After you brush off any dirt and bacteria from under the rim of the toilet you now have a dripping brush and you don't want any of those drops on you or on your freshly cleaned floor. So you just put the ring of the toilet sit on the handle of the brush. It should be heavy enough to hold to brush "levitating" above the toilet. Leave it there to drip off for a couple of minutes and you are done.

Shower Heads

Brush off any boiling stone of your shower head with a hard brush and vinegar. If you can unscrew the shower head you can leave it in vinegar for a couple of hours. This will make it spray like a brand new one :)
