CIRCUITO DAS ARTES DO JARDIM BOTANICO

During the third and fourth weekends in August, one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in Rio de Janeiro, at the feet Christ the Redeemer, transforms into an open sky art gallery. The Circuito das Artes do Jardim Botanico creates a chance for people to visit more than 50 ateliers that will open their doors and allows more than 90 artists and creative producers to show their work.

This circuit covers several blocks and there is a trolley that takes visitors around the workshops and galleries, to enjoy all the sculpture, painting, photography, jewelry and fashion design that fills these streets.

Culinary art also takes its place in this important cultural event. In the gastronomic fair, 13 of the region’s restaurants, open their doors and set special prices for these weekends’ evenings. Theater and music performances are popular and enjoyed by the youngest crowd.

The circuit hosts special events such as talks and mass meetings, as well as clinics for artists and an opportunity to network and learn about the new tendencies.
