Choosing the Right Heating Systems For Your Home
by Green S. CEOA good hot
water and central heating system is quite important to have in your home. This
is especially true if you live in places where the temperatures can go below
the freezing point and some times of the year. It is then that you will
certainly need some quality system that you can depend on. There are quite a
few traditional heating systems that you can choose from for your home.
One type of
heating system is a furnace, which is basically designed to draw air in from
the house. The air that is drawn goes through a duct work system and is then
directed right towards a warming area, where it will be warmed before it is re
- directed back into the living spaces of the home.
The newer
models of this type of system uses a blower which will re-circulate any air
that is warmed and routed. This heating system can be fueled with oil, gas or
electricity, and also the traditional wood or coal. The air that is circulated
is drawn through a filter which helps to rid the area of any dust and other
particles.
Today there
are gas and the
right size boiler for your home available which have a pilot light to warm
its heated exchange unit. The air that is circulated is warmed up before it
will be re-directed throughout the home. The oil and gas furnaces are designed
with a special flue where the exhaust gases are then thrown right out of the
house. With the electric furnace, You will find some heating elements or strips
which help the air to become warmer.
Now in
comparison to the other furnaces, it is the electric furnace system that is
much more cleaner and simpler when it is operating. With the coal and wood
heating systems, the design accommodates with a sealed firebox. The fuel is
burned in the firebox. The air is then directed from a built in heat exchanger,
to the desired area of the house.
One other
heating system which involves the use of metal vents, allows the warmed air to
go through the system where the stream of air is directed right into the home.
These metal vents are mostly placed within the floors or the walls of different
rooms. With these home systems there are thermostats where you can control the
temperature with the settings that are on the thermostat, which you can always
find fitted onto the wall. These thermostats will indicate the existent room
temperature. But with the case of the home heating systems which use oil for
the fuel, the oil is burned from inside tanks that hold the oil.
There is
also what is known as base board heaters that are long metal units with
electrical elements within them. Each of these metal units have its own
control, which is marked in increments. However, with this type of heating
system it does not indicate the temperature of the room. There are quite a lot
of homes that use this kind of heating system as their sole means of heat.
