Choosing The Perfect Lighting For Your Home

by Harish Sheel SEO Expert Delhi

Good lighting is hardly noticeable if it has a good presence and feeling when you are in the space. However when lighting is poor and you are trying to perform a task, or do not get a good feeling about the light, you notice it immediately. Lighting is for aesthetics, ambience, tasks and seeing better in your home. Consider all the lighting qualities you would like. Here are some tips to choose the perfect lighting for you and your family.

Lighting goals – you need to determine what your lighting goals are. Direct or task lighting is focused in the space in which you want to work. Ambient or indirect lighting is used to give ambiance and for the overall lighting of the space. Home lighting in India is a combination of both. Each room in your home should reflect a distinctive mood you want to create. You also have to consider the function you would like your lighting to serve.

Exterior Lighting for safety and security - this includes the walkways, sidewalks and perimete3rs of your home and the front door . These areas should be lit with ambient lights. Dim exterior lights invite in the intruders. On the other hand too bright lights are a disturbance to the neighbors and are extremely costly. Motion activated flood lights in the exterior of your home work well to deter intruders .They are even more effective if they are motion activated. Follow the aesthetics and security lighting of your neighborhood for further guidelines.

Exterior wall sconces for décor- outdoor lighting does not have to be purely utilitarian. Wall scones effectively create washes of lights on your exterior walls to create an ambience in the evening hours. Directional scones highlight the architectural features of your home by directing light upwards or downwards. They draw attention to exterior niches and highlight the garden areas of your home.

Multiple light Sources for one space - in the interior of your home you would do best with a layering of light. For rooms like kitchens, bedrooms and the dining areas you can achieve a variety of activities and functions in that space. For kitchens, under the counter lights can provide great task lighting, in the living room a great floor lamp next to a couch or a favorite reading chair would do the trick. Get hanging pendant lights to create an overall ethereal effect in any large interior rooms.

Recessed lighting – for high ceilings and modern décor use recessed lighting. These fixtures are subtle and can be directional. They can also be connected to dimmer switches to give a range of light.
