If you are put in charge of organising a corporate event for the first time you may feel panic set in just a little – I mean, how do you go about choosing the right venue which will be perfect for your event? Will you have to visit every function venue in the area just to be sure of picking the right place?

Relax and take it easy. Here are a few things to think about when choosing between Corporate Function Venues. The first thing you need to take into account is the size of the function – if you will be hosting an event for hundreds of people you will not be able to squeeze them into anywhere small and intimate will you? Equally, you do not want to hold a corporate function for 20 or 30 people in a massive function venue which can accommodate hundreds of people. Finding the right place is extremely important.

You also need to take the location into account. If some of your guests will be travelling from far and wide they will not only need to be able to find the venue easily but also may need hotel accommodation, restaurants and car parks nearby. If you want your function to stand out and be unique or do you want something more practical and close to the centre of town for local clients. No matter which way you decide to go you might want to also look into accessibility via public transport.

The next thing which needs to be taken into consideration is the type of event you will have and what facilities you will actually need. Will it be an informal, party type celebratory event or something more professional? Will you need a stage for conference candidates to speak with sound systems etc., or will your needs be better met by a more informal environment.

What about food? Do you want to host a formal dinner for lots of people or will there be buffet style refreshments. Perhaps you envisage having waiting staff circulating around the venue serving canapés and drinks.

You need to think about all of these things, then and only then can you decide upon the best venue for your function. There are plenty of corporate function venues around so it just depends exactly what type and size of function you are planning. Remember this however – planning is the optimum word. The better you plan your event the more smoothly and professionally it will run – leave nothing to chance and choose a venue which will work with you to organise the perfect event.
