Chevrolet Sail against rivals

Chevrolet Sail Sedan definitely has to fight with an uphill battle with the already established market leader Maruti Swift Dzire and and Upcoming Honda Amaze. The first look of the Sail Sedan does not appeal as much as it seems more practical in comparison to the attractive styling of the Swift Dzire and Honda Amaze.

Chevrolet Sail is capacious and does not cramp its passengers like one feels in DZire, the entry and exit is smooth with generous boot space. Same goes for Honda Amaze which is said to be more comfortable than the two.

In terms of instrument cluster and dashboard Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift Dzire scores more but when it comes to safety department Sail steals the show as three of four variants in the Sail petrol and diesel versions come with a driver airbag, while only the top end variant in Dzire are rendered with this feature.

The top-end variant of the Chevrolet Sail gets passenger airbag as well. Amaze is said to be come loaded with best safety features SRS airbags, central locking system, pre-tensioners giving neck to neck competition to Sail. Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and Sail all three vehicles are available in Diesel as well as petrol engine. 

When it comes to performance, the Sail has a more power pact engine in diesel than Amaze and Swift whereas Swift Dzire scores more in Petrol variant than the other two.  Sail’s fuel efficiency is marked at 18-19 kmpl for the petrol and 22.1 kmpl for the diesel trim, whereas Dzire gives an efficiency of 18-19 kmpl in the petrol version and 21-22 kmpl with the diesel variant, not much difference with Honda Amaze too which can deliver a fuel economy of around 17 kmpl in petrol and 19-20 kmpl in Diesel.
