How to get around New York

The New York Subway covers most of Manhattan and its surrounding areas. One of the easiest way is to buy yourself a metro card and you’ll be able to explore the city using the subway as well as the large network of buses. New York’s famous yellow taxis/cab can be easily found on every street corner so you’ll never have to walk far many blocks. Having said that, New York is a great place to explore on foot, especially if you’re not in a rush. A stroll through the Central Park, a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and view the city from a different point with a visit to the High Line.

Parking seems to be always a problem around the city, so the most popular method of travel in New York City is by taxi. The taxis charge by metered rates, and several transport companies can be found at all the three main airport terminals. It can take approximately 30 minutes to an hour to get from the airport’s terminal to downtown New York depending on the conditions of the traffic. Several booths from Car rentals are also available, and cost depends on the size of vehicle you choose.

Must-see attractions in New York

New York is home to a large number of world-famous attractions, so if you’re interested in sightseeing there’s plenty to take in. A mild relaxing and walking from Central Park you can either jump on the subway or walk down to the Empire State Building and taking in the views from the observation deck, continue on to Greenwich Village, Lower Manhattan and the city’s financial center.
