Cheap Bali Holidays Take You to Places Worth Exploring

by Daisy Wilkinson Travel Guides

One of the most popular islands in Indonesia, Bali is visited by plenty of tourists coming from various corners of the world. Tourism on the island has been on the rise since the late 20th century and has become a major contributor to its economy. Even after so many years, it has managed to preserve its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. As a result, tourists are treated to some fascinating traditional dance forms, beautiful sculptures, paintings, and music. Bali was described as the world's top destination in the Traveller's Choice Award of TripAdvisor in the year 2017. During your time spent on the island, you'll get the chance to explore some of the island’s famous attractions.

Your Bali holidays package may include a tour of Pura Tanah Lot, which is a Hindu temple located at a distance of about 20 kilometres from the north-western part of Kuta. It is one of the most sacred among all the sea temples of Bali for the Hindus living on the island. One of the reasons for its popularity is its spectacular settings. Pura Tanah Lot has been built on a rocky islet and is visited by plenty of tourists and locals in the evenings. This temple was built by the local fishermen at the beginning of the 16th century.

Mount Batur, a volcanic mountain located in the Kintamani District, is an excellent place to go hiking during your Bali holidays. It is visited by hundreds of enthusiastic visitors before dawn, who trek to a height of 1,700 metres to watch a mesmerising sunrise from its summit. This volcanic mountain can be reached with an hour's drive from Ubud. The hike to this mountain’s summit is made easier with the help of well-marked trails along the way. Guided treks are available for exploring Mount Batur, which include breakfast with eggs that are cooked by the steam coming from the active volcano.

Don't miss visiting the Monkey Forest during your cheap Bali holidays, especially if you're a photographer or a wildlife enthusiast. The forest is home to scores of long-tailed macaques and you would definitely get to watch them roaming around freely in their natural habitat. Walking in the thick forest would be a pleasure in the presence of paved pathways. The forest also has ancient temples and statues in the midst of nutmeg and large banyan trees. On the north-western portion of the forest is Pura Beji, an ancient temple located next to a cool stream.

Among the most popular beaches on this Indonesian island is Kuta Beach. Although it is often crowded with visitors and hawkers, you can have a wonderful time on its vast stretches of sand. If you wish to learn surfing, there are some experienced instructors who provide some excellent lessons for beginners. You can also get surfboards, sun-loungers, umbrellas, and boogie boards on rent from the vendors nearby. If you wish to enjoy more peaceful surroundings, you can visit Jimbaran Beach or Nusa Dua Beach. Surfing enthusiasts can have an exciting time on Dreamland Beach, Bingin Beach, or Canggu Beach.

You'll also get to enjoy some wonderful moments during your holidays to Santorini.
