The American Medical Association in their “Morning Rounds”, a news digest sent daily to their member physicians, recently reported on a study from “Common Sense Media”. The professionals at Cell Phone Repair Hawaii - MobileREMEDIES® thought you might be interested.

They polled 1,200 adolescents and their parents and found that 50% of adolescents reported that they feel “addicted” to their mobile devices (smartphones and tablet PC’s). Fifty-nine percent of the parents reported that they were aware of the problem in their own adolescent but 27% of them also reported having the same feeling themselves!

There is little doubt that our mobile devices have become a pivotal part of our daily lives and that their importance is unlikely to decrease any time soon! Knowledge of our changing patterns of usage may provide us some insight into this new “addiction” and there is good reason to be surprised by some of the statistics.

The American Medical Association is not quite ready to classify “Mobile Device Addiction” as a new disease but it may not be far off (?). As far as we know, there are no drug companies working on a pharmacological cure as yet! So, if you break your mobile device, rather than go through withdrawal, contact MobileREMEDIES® Cellphone/Electronic Repair with stores on Maui and Oahu. They can repair it quickly for less than replacement or insurance costs and give you a 1-year warranty on parts and labor! If they can’t fix your device, there is no charge for the attempt!
