Students that have completed MBBS from foreign countries can practice in India after passing screening test i.e. FMGE. Only students who completed their degree from countries like UK, USA, Australia, and New Zealand can practice in India without screening test.  Now, soon this screening test will be compulsory for MBBS in India students too. After the completion of the MBBS from Abroad, students have a lot of career options to choose from according to their interest. Few of them are: -

1.      Practice in India

One can always start his/her clinic to practice in India after passing FMGE exam after and completing the MBBS degree from Abroad. But this generally requires more time for the clinic to get established and earn profitable business for the doctor. Students can also choose to practice in hospitals where they can get paid from the very beginning. The clinical Practice can either be in the Government hospital or the Private.

2.     Study for Specialty

After one is over with MBBS from Abroad, most students want to study PG for specialty. The seats are usually very less for PG education too, so it is challenging to get seat for PG in their preferred choice subject. Under such circumstances, the students can either have to seats or study the subject which is allowed according to their preferences. Getting selected for the Postgraduate program in a choice of subject is a difficult task and for that students are advised to take a break for a year or two to prepare for the entrance tests.

3.     Research option after MBBS Abroad

Research work means a Ph.D. program in India which is very prestigious field. There are more than 45 Ph.D. recognized programs by the national medical commission (NMC) in India. The duration of a Ph.D. program is generally three years. For some students, who like learning and want to put that interest to use, research program is best option after MBBS abroad. In a country like India, there are very few people who go for Ph. D. or research after medical education. But country need more people to come forward for pursuing Ph.D. courses as there is a shortage of research scientist in the subcontinent. The main aim of Ph.D. program is to invent and learn more in the medical field so the new inventions can be used for medical treatment and advancements in the country.

The sector is growing rapidly and the demand is yet to be fulfilled with the hospital management staff. And not to forget the job brings more money to the ones employed in this field.

5.     USMLE/ UKMLA

If the person has already completed his/her MBBS from Abroad at low cost from any country but from recognized university, then it will be really easy for them to continue their stay abroad. Countries such as the USA, UK offer much more in terms of any educational facilities than in India. The USMLE exam for residency program in USA is a compulsory exam for the students who want to study in the USA or PLAB (UKMLA) exam in UK after completing their MBBS Abroad.
