Canelo-GGG Will Be Worth the Wait

by Mike Lorenz Web Designer, SEO/SMO Expert

Canelo Alvarez announced he would battle unified middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin on September 16 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Nevertheless, this fight doesn’t look like one of the highly anticipated fight but before this, 2 years ago, the Canelo vs GGG was proposed after the disappointing fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather. It was 6 months after the “Fight of the Century,” the Canelo vs GGG was proposed for a 160-pound Title. But Alvarez declined the fight for him to focus on the 160-pound limit.

Fans grew impatient but all seemed to be good when Amir Khan was knocked out by Canelo and brought GGG into the ring again. Alvarez said that time that he was ready to fight, and De La Hoya would talk the manager/advisor of GGG, Tom Loeffler, famously telling him to have his phone ready, as he would make the fight possible.

Boxing fans were overjoyed by the news but De La Hoya teased was still far away: He said that the fight will occur in September 2017. Fans doubted “The Golden Boy,’ now wanting to wait for another 15 months for the fight between the two greatest fighters of this time.

What if Canelo or GGG lost in the time before their fight between GGG and Canelo arrive? What if the already acquire illness or injuries that would cause for the fight to pull back?

GGG did his part by knocking out Kell Brook in September and then winning consecutively against Daniel Jacobs back in March. Alvarez followed up by knocking Liam Smith out, same month, and Chavez in May of 2017.

Now, we will have the fight that the fans has been dreaming for a long time, between the two greats in the world of boxing who have become complete boxers. We’ve already waited for so long, and by the time Canelo and GGG step into the ring, it will be a fight that is worth waiting for.
