Building Leadership Quality in Children

•  Team Activities: Team activities help students to understand each other and cooperate. This helps in building their mutual understanding and ability to respect each other’s’ decision.  The quality of leadership begins from understanding other’s view than mere imposing own view on the team. The teamwork helps in building respecting others.
•  Independent Decisions: The regular class activities should focus on enabling students to take their own decisions and make the choices.  They should not rely on others’ decisions; the leadership quality depends upon being confident about ones’ own decisions.
•  Communication Activities: The communication activities help the person to express his/her opinion to the world. It is important to be clear in own view and only then you can reciprocate those views to others and convince them about those views. 
•  Leadership Games: The games that involve leadership helps student in building their motivation and interest to lead the team. It helps them to find their own place in the crowd of all students.

There is much more that can be done from the beginning in school that can improve communication skills, understanding quality, confidence, self-dependent and convincing that lays the foundation of overall leadership quality. Starting with small changes in school system of India can bring the nationwide change.
