Brighten Up Your Home Environment
When you did your last set of home renovations, did you do the one thing that would make the biggest impact for the least amount of money? This is something that many people over look, even when it’s at its most obvious; a small change that will save you money in the long run, and shows that you’re doing your bit to help preserve the climate for future generations. That’s right; energy efficient lighting can make that much difference to your home and the environment.
In the past you were limited to the types of lighting that you might have in your home. The chances were that you’d have the old bayonet or screw in light bulb in the majority of your rooms, and possibly a florescent light in your kitchen. Once they were installed moving them was difficult. If the whole of the room wasn’t lit up properly, then the only real choices you had were to move the furniture accordingly, or buy a more powerful light bulb. But things have changed.
Rearranging the lighting will still require you to employ a professional, but that’s where the old hurdles stop. You can add led recessed ceiling lights to almost any room – or area within the room – that you like. You can use the lighting to highlight specific parts of a room that get the heaviest ‘traffic’, areas that members of the family might use to study in, or just use the led light bulbs to pick out favorite knick-knacks that you like to have on show.
Also, not only can the led recessed ceiling lights be used to illuminate these important parts of the room, but the fact that they are recessed can also be important, too. For the majority of us, the days of the ornamental light have gone. Chandeliers and the like are a thing of the past, and rather than making the light itself the key ceiling furniture feature, we prefer to hide it away, and let the light pick out our treasured possessions instead.
Of course, lighting is something that we use every day, so we seldom really think about how much we use, and how much it adds to our monthly electricity bill. But even if you did know, would you think about doing anything about it? Would you make sure that the lights were switched off when people left the room, or would you just continue on the way you’re going? Either way, changing from your old high powered light bulbs to new, energy efficient, low wattage led light bulbs will save you money. With the proper care they will last longer than the old bulbs you’re replacing, and the cost to the environment of making them – and later disposing of them – is far more sustainable, too.
So, if you’re just about to start planning the next changes to your home, or you’re gearing up for a winter when energy consumption is going to be at its highest, then it’s time to think about making a small, inexpensive change to your lighting that’s going to give you a lot of benefits. Head over to www.jedlights.com to see what’s on offer, and think about those changes that need to be made in your home – it doesn’t cost a lot to make a big difference to your home and the environment.
