Brazil steel output may recover in “2014 general election year”

It is reported that Korea POSCO will maintain its stainless steel rolled steel price for December unchanged and rise nickel price. After adjustment, the price of stainless hot rolled plate and cold rolled plate 304 will be 3.2 million wons per ton and 3.47 million wons per ton respectively; and that of 430 is 2.14 million wons and 2.52 million wons per ton and 2.52 million wons per ton respectively. By the end of the Q3, Korean stainless steel stock increased 10% YoY to amount 66 thousands tons.
Brazil steel output may recover in “2014 general election year”
Lopez, the CEO of Brazil Iron and Steel Association——IABr, said on 4, Nov. that Brazil steel output will increase in 2014, because Brazil will have general election in 2014 and the national industrial plan and automobile revolution project will also thrust the output (includes anchor) to some extent.
Currently, the global steel output is close to 0.6 billion tons. In the beginning of the second half year, IABr reduced the expectation of steel output (includes anchor) increase, and set it equal to the 34.5 million tons in 2012. According to the latest data, from Jan. to Sep. 2013, Brazil steel output declined 0.6%.
