Book Decor is a company that has grown out of a passion for reading, art, and history. I stumbled upon these books and fell immediately in love. The smell of the leather, the beauty of the bindings, holding a piece of history and art in my hand, I was hooked. The rest, as they say, is history.

In the years I have been working with antique books, I have placed books in hotels all over the world, had them in movies, plays, operas, television shows, amusement parks, window dressings, and photo shoots. Some of my clients include Caesars Palace, Ralph Lauren, The Chicago Lyric Opera House, ABC Television, and Disney. But, my favorite places to install my books are in private homes and libraries.

We specialize in antique leather bound books used for decorative purposes. All of our books are original antique books between 50-200 years old. Most of the books we offer are in Danish. We also have French and German books available.

Jewel Tone by the Foot
Jewel Tone comes in many colors in a wide variety of size. They are exclusively in the Danish language. It is a more recente book, manufactured between 1900 and 1970, and can be used to fill large amounts of shelf space. With their minimal detailing and smooth leather, there books function well in both comtemporary and moder décor. We carry books in red, brown, blue, green and black tones. If you wish to specify colors, you can do so on the Orders Comment box when checkin out.

Designer Mix by the Yard
Designer Mix is an older book, manufactured between 1800 and 1940’s, and is a bit smaller than its counterpart in the Jewel Tones. They are exclusively in the Danish Language. Designer Mix comes in all the blonde tones such as honey, wheat, and fawn. They can also come in a variety of muted standard colors such as blue, green, and red. Because of the books age, the color is softer and more delicate. A Designer Mix book also has more details such as raised spines and gilding. They will very often have beautiful illustrations inside.

Hand Picked Collection by the Book
These books are carefully Hand Picked for their beauty and craftsmanship. They are highly detailed with gilt (gold) with beautiful images such as flowers, animals, people, cherubs and intricate patterns, embossed on wonderful leather, the workmanship is exquisite and rarely seen in today's mass produced books. Our Hand Picked books are truly a small work of art. They will grace any home with their beauty for years to come. While some may be from the early 1800’s, others may be from as late as the 1950’s. They are exclusively in the Danish language and are available in limited numbers.

If you are purchasing for length, all of the collections measurements are the same for feet or yards, 9 books to a foot, and 27 books to a yard.
