The Packaging People have been at the forefront of delivering sustainable packaging to consumers and their suppliers for nearly a decade. We have been conscious of the foot print ‘packaging’ in general leaves on the Environment.

Developing products like the Bio Degradable Bag that composts over 90% and the Earth Bag; another high quality low Environmental impact product we have sold for many years.

It has been ‘interesting’ to say the least, the Social Media commentary and questions /posts we have received since launching our Bio Cup Packaging range 2 months ago. We carefully considered the products that were available. Critical to our choice before agreeing to enter the space was the ‘carbon footprint’ this product would leave.

We launched our Bio Cup range around the same time the ‘War on Waste’ Program aired 30^th September,2107. This program shed some light and insight into disposable coffee cups. We posted via our web page and social media forums debunking some of the information in the program as it related specifically to disposable coffee cups.

We received a constant stream of questions, critiques and criticisms that ‘we only cared about profits’ – ‘we should sack our PR consultant ‘– ‘we didn’t care about reality – just profits’. ‘Your cups cannot recycle NONE can’.

It is disappointing that consumers think that we can make claims we cannot support – or that we just worry about’ profits’.

Sensible, reasoned arguments weren’t part of the discussion it seemed – just ‘another Company profiteering from a product harmful to the Environment’ and that ‘we don’t care anyway’.

We take the responsibility of informing all of our customers and would not market products if there was no authenticity to the claim.

Our Bio Cups are made from 100% Recyclable and Compostable materials – our cups do not have an internal layer of ethylene (plastic PLA). Read More…
