Beware of Purchasing Fake Products in Dubai Markets. Use this app to avoid such Purchases
Montaji is the savior of shoppers in Dubai. The consumers in
Dubai can now make purchase of authentic items and make sure that the products
purchased are genuine or in case fake and also do match the health standards or
not.
The step has been taken by Dubai authorities in favor of
national and international shoppers. The Dubai Municipality launched ‘Montaji’,
a smart, integrated system for registration and classification of consumer
products.
Other mobile application development companies in Dubai
should come with same measures to prevent undue exploitation of their valued
customers.
The system was launched on Monday (07 August 2017) and also
is to come as an application packet to run on smart phones with the same name.
The system was brought into
light by Khalid Mohammad Sharif Al Awadhi, assistant director general for
Environment, Health and Safety Control Sector promised that the system was to
ensure non compromising safety standards of products while guaranteeing smooth
flow of trade.
Under the system all the health care products have been
included and they have to maintain their standards and not compromising on
consumers’ health. Product like soaps, detergents, perfumes, deodorants,
cosmetics, etc. should be registered with the system said Naseem Mohammed Rafee,
head of consumer product safety section.
Application development Companies in Abu Dhabi
is gaining grounds and this is a constructive step by government to gain
consumers’ confidence.
In case of any doubt
over the quality of the product the consumer can simply clarify it by entering
the bar code or by entering the name of the product in the montaji system and
thus verify the details. This will help to check whether the product has been
registered with the consumer product safety section and the specifications of
the product. Naseem Mohammed Rafee was further quoted.
A consumer helpline to report violations has also been setup
through the municipality’s call center 80-0900. Mobile application
development companies can use this time to gain momentum in online
shopping market in Dubai.
An application with the same name will also be launched
within two months, said Ahmad Mohammad Kajoor, head of IT infrastructure at the
municipality.
He also said that the app will come with the feature of
scanning the barcode to get product details immediately. While coming with next
developments will include enabling the app to make use of consumers’ health
profile so as to make sure a particular product is suitable for them.
The app will provide the service of reporting violations
instantly. This system will help in reducing the time required for registration
of products and also the cost of such a service will also be reduced which will
directly benefit the companies.
Giving an example, Rafee said,” A company registering 10
colors of a lipstick brand had to apply 10 times before and each time they had
to pay a fee of Dh200. Now they can pay
Dh 200 for the first time and Dh10 each for the rest of the colors.”
Also the system has been developed in such a manner that if
someone tries to re-register a product which has been earlier rejected due to
some standard issues. It will alert the staff of the department if such an
action of re-registering is tried to be taken by hiding the ingredients of the
product or misleading information that
are not in compliance of the norms. The statement was made by Rafee.
Every year Dubai witnesses increase in imports and in such a
scenario it is important to maintain the quality of export entering the nation.
Conclusion: In the era of consumerism, such an action to
work for the interest of consumers is rightfully a progressive step to a safer
future.
