Best time of the year to visit Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta is in a very well located spot – it is on Banderas Bay (the 2nd largest Bay in the world), surrounded by the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains and protected from the threat of hurricanes. It’s in the Pacific Ocean side of the country, the weather is warm a majority part of the year, but visiting between December and the end of March is the best option in my opinion (Whale Watching in PVR is a must at this time of the year). You can certainly visit in the summer (when everything is very cheap), but the temperatures are very high.

Avoid Easter and Semana Santa (Holy Week, which begins Palm Sunday). The city will be crowded, first by Locals on vacation, and then by Spring Breakers.
