BEST POP BUBBLE GAME APPS ON THE APP STORE
by Soap Bubble Blow and Save the Sponge from germsThe idea is simple:
from the bottom of the frame, shoot bubbles to correspond with matching bubbles
at the top. The twist comes when you can bounce bubbles off the side of the
screen in the Breakout-influenced way.
Puzzle Bobble was the
first bubble shooter title, released in 1994 as an arcade game. Puzzle Bobble
took its look from an older title, the 1986 classic Bubble Bobble, and
characters. If you remember Bubble Bobble you may have spent the 80s playing
arcade games for too long.
Are you a fan of bubble shooter
games? Download these fun and addictive bubble shooter game apps available for both iPhone
and iOS.
1. Soap Bubble:
Although the game that
started it all isn't as vintage, Soap Bubble has been around for a long time
now. This is one of the easiest take-ups you can find on the genre, making it a
perfect place to get started. To cover your sponge just start blowing and
clicking.
The game app
uses HTML5, so every browser should have it running. You should not think about
Flash or any other plugins. You can play this anywhere, but it is a better
match for the screen than it is for your tablet given the way the playing field
is laid out.
2. Smarty Bubbles:
Smarty Bubbles
provides nothing in the way of building on top of the recipe for bubble
shooters. That being said, it looks better than Bubble Shooter and uses a
narrower area of play. This makes this game much more appropriate for handheld
devices such as smartphones and tablets.
They change slightly,
as you fire the bubbles. It is not a complicated simulation of physics but it
provides a great visual indication of where your shot is landing.
3.Candy Bubbles:
Candy Bubble provides
a blend of simple pop bubble gameplay with candy-coated visuals that
remind you of Candy Crush. It is a perfect introduction to the genre, too.
Rather than beginning with a large group of semi-randomized bubbles, you will
start with more basic groupings.
Candy Bubble also uses
the three-star system that games like Angry Birds have made famous too. This
provides a nice layer of potential to replay over the basic mechanics. The game
also has other quality-of-life features, such as a visual indicator showing how
shots bounce off walls, helping you get the hang of shots that are deflected.
4. Kitty Bubbles:
We're talking about
games that you're playing online here, so there is a cat's version of course.
Oh, the Internet.
Balls of yarn replace
the normal bubbles at Kitty Bubbles. Instead of the normal launcher, a cat sits
at the bottom of the frame, swatting your yarn ball up to join the others.
Even this game is mobile-friendly, to the extent that if you play it in a browser on your phone, it's pillar-boxed. Kitty Bubbles doesn't shake the genre but it's a good game for bubbles
5. Bubble Shooter:
No, the name is not a
mistake. It's a different game from Bubble Shooter, it has music and sound
effects that may or may not matter to you but it is good to have them included.
This free classic bubble
shooter game also lets you store a single bubble and swap it. This is useful
when you're away from a game-saving mix of one shot and doesn’t get the right
color. It doesn't stop the game, but in some cases, it can help avoid a game
from coming over.
6.Bubble Dragons:
Bubble Dragons takes a
bubble shooter's general idea and plays with it. This may only be a graphical
redesign, but it does go much further instead. The target here is not just to
match three same-colored bubbles but to match them similar to dragon eggs.
If you fit three close
to one of these eggs successfully it will explode. This explosion has a radius
and if there is another egg within that radius it will also explode. This helps
you to set up huge combos in a way that we don't always see in shooters with
simple bubbles.
This is also one of
the few bubble shooter games friendly to color blind players, with icons
displaying every form of the bubble so you don't have to rely on color alone.
Conclusion:
Although free bubble pop
games can and do have different mechanics and twists, they are all
based on the same formula. Luckily, bubble shooters aren't the only form of
game you can play on the web for free. You can also find games for tower
defense and clickers, plus lots of puzzle games.
