Indian Institute of Advanced Studies (IIAS)

This is basically the summer retreat for the President of India. The building was built by the British when Shimla was the summer capital of the East India Company. It is used for promoting a variety of advanced studies pertaining to Indian arts and humanities.

Annandale

For tourists looking for an adrenaline fix, Annandale is the perfect place for some adventure sports. It is also one of the perfect Tourist places in Shimla for playing golf while on vacation. The scenery here is spectacular.

Jakhu Hill

This 8000 feet high hill in Shimla is a prime tourist spot. The summit is home to a Hanuman temple with a Hanuman statue at the front which is about 108 feet high. Tourists will come across hundreds of monkeys while walking up this hill.

Naldehra and Shaily Peak

For the perfect sunset and sunrise views in Shimla, this peak is perhaps the perfect place to go to for the tourists. The entire area is covered with naturally rich fauna and flora, and a large deodhar tree forest.

Chadwick Falls

The 1586 metres high Chadwick Falls provides a spectacular view for the tourists. The falls are even more beautiful in the monsoon season. The falls are covered with luscious deodhar trees, giving it a natural look and feel.

Kufri

This is a hill station located quite close to the main city of Shimla, and is known to be the winter sports capital of India. Once a part of Nepal, Kufri is now perfect for tourists looking for ice skating, skiing, horse riding, go karting, zipline and many other outdoor activities.
