by Dario Gazzagon Carpet CleanerSome of the items from your pantry might work really well as effective homemade cleaners. You can make all-purpose cleaners that are even better than the store-bought cleaners at the cost to nothing. So, if you are sitting in the middle of a huge mess and you are out of your favourite cleaning product then, you don’t have to run to the store, rather you can try DIY house cleaning methods. These natural products will kick grime to the curb and it will be highly cost-effective for you.
Safety Tip to Keep in Mind
You should
not combine ammonia-based cleaners with chlorine bleach or any product that
contains bleach. Combined, they create fumes
that are extremely dangerous. Before you mix anything, you should always read
the product labels first. Always label the bottles of DIY cleaners with the
ingredients.
1. All-Purpose Cleaner
For making an all-purpose homemade cleaner, you
will need-
·
1
part vinegar
·
1
part water
·
Lemon
rind
·
Rosemary
You need to
mix all the ingredients mentioned above and then put it into a spray bottle. It
needs to be infused for a week before you use it. Once that is done, you can
remove hard water stains, wall smudges; clean trash can, and so on. It leaves a
fresh smell and the lemon rind will help in boosting the cleaning power.
Caution: Do not use it on granite because they will etch the granite stone.
2. Natural Marble Cleaner
For making
marble cleaner you will need-
·
2-3
drops of mild liquid dish wash
·
2
½ cups of warm water
Mix these
two well when you want to clean stone countertops. Sponge over marble and rinse
completely so that no soap residue is left. Use a soft cloth piece and do not
let the marble air-dry.
Caution: Never use vinegar, lemon, or any other acidic cleaner on marble as it
will eat into the stone.
3. Homemade Brass Cleaner
For making
a homemade cleaner that clears out brass, you will need-
·
Table
salt
·
White
vinegar or lemon juice
To clean
all the non-lacquered cabinet pulls, bathroom, and more soak a sponge in vinegar
or lemon juice and sprinkle some table salt on this. Rub it over the surface,
rinse it with water and dry it with a clean and soft cloth.
4. Heavy-Duty Scrub
·
½
lemon
·
½
cup of Borax powder
Rust stains
on porcelain or sinks and tubs can be effectively cleaned with this cleaner.
Dip lemon into the borax and scrub it first on the surface and then rinse it
with clear water.
Additional tip: If you are confused about how you can find borax then, you can look for
it in the detergent aisle or you can simply order it online.
These are
the best and effective DIY house cleaning methods that you can easily execute
at your home. All these methods are environmentally friendly. Just keep in mind
that you should keep these out from the reach of the children.
