The Managing Director, Mr. Partha Ghosh of Bengal Aerotropolis heads the company’s board of directors. He is also the founder cum chairman there. He has above twenty years of experience in the Infrastructure and Real Estate sector with multiple infrastructural and residential township projects under his funding sources.

According to the MD, ‘Sujalaam’ – a sky city is set to champion growth through intelligent planning coupled with flawless execution. Being a 15-minute drive from Durgapur, this place has many facilities that do not come with every stereotypical township. In addition to an airport and other facilities, there is also an InfoTech park and a logistics hub.

The company takes itself as a top-level builder of sky cities and also as one among the top 10 best employers in the country. If things go on as expected the company shall very soon become a financially strong company. The words ‘Partha Ghosh, BAPL’ certainly makes sense in case of West Bengal’s development.

As a service oriented sector, the company promises urban services, delivery commitments, caring for environment, and also caring for local communities. Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Limited has a tie-up with a Singapore based company known as Changi Airports and Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services, which has taken the entire work of airport development.  Changi Airports, after developing the most developed Aerotropolis city-states of Hong Kong, Singapore and Dubai, says that the proposed Durgapur Aerotropolis project is expected to bring out similar socio-economic growth in Durgapur that can make Durgapur into another metropolitan city, right after Kolkata.

In simple words, an Aerotropolis can be defined as a term for a city having an airport as its base for the layout, infrastructure, and socio-economic growth. Hence, it can also be called as an airport city. BAPL states that, their project will have an airport, corporate spaces, schools, shopping areas, housing, industrial park, and an IT hub, all located within an area of 2,300 acres. The airport has been named after Kazi Nazrul Islam, Bengal’s famous poet.

The words ‘Partha Ghosh, Bengal Aerotropolis’ suggest that this project is going to set up a community of residents around the airport with all modern amenities of a sky city, with special attention to education and health care systems. Other than this, BAPL is also engaged in developing similar projects in some other parts of India as well. The proposed next project in the queue is Ludhiana Aerotropolis. BAPL is all set to mark a difference between traditional city airports to the newly conceptualized airport city.

Author’s bio: Bengal Aerotropolis is a specialized firm that is engaged in the developments of Aerotropolis projects in the whole of India. The meaning of ‘Partha Ghosh, BAPL’ and ‘Partha Ghosh, Bengal Aerotropolis’ are nothing but the development of India.
