Belts (industrial belts, automotive belts) keep the wheels moving!

Industrial belts:

As their name suggests, industrial belts helped the industry progress and grow. Although they are less than a century old, belts have revolutionized virtually every aspect of manufacturing and technology.

In industries, belts are the cheapest utility for power transmission between shafts that may not be axially aligned. In such cases, power transmission is achieved by specially designed belts and pulleys.

The demands on a belt drive transmission system are large and this has led to many variations on the theme. They run smoothly and with little noise, and cushion motor and bearings against load changes. Improvements in belt engineering allow use of belts in systems that formerly allowed chains or gears.

PIX makes extensive types of industrial belts, like wrap construction belts, moulded raw edged cogged belts, ribbed/ poly V-belts, timing/ synchronous belts, polyurethane belts etc.

Belt drive is simple, inexpensive, and does not require axially aligned shafts. It helps protect the machinery from overload and jam, and damps and isolates noise and vibration.

Load fluctuations are shock-absorbed (cushioned). They need no lubrication and minimal maintenance. They have high efficiency (90-98%, usually 95%), high tolerance for misalignment, and are of relatively low cost if the shafts are far apart.

Automotive belts

Without belts, traffic would come to a complete standstill!

Belts, small and large, drive the two and four wheel vehicles we ride in. A belt is a part of an internal combustion engine that synchronizes the rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft(s) so that the engine's valves open and close at the proper times during each cylinder's intake and exhaust strokes.

Most modern production automobile engines use a timing belt or chain to synchronize crankshaft and camshaft rotation; some engines instead use gears to directly drive the camshafts. The use of a timing belt or chain instead of direct gear drive enables engine designers to place the camshaft(s) further from the crankshaft, and in engines with multiple camshafts a timing belt or chain also enables the camshafts to be placed further from each other

We work with manufacturers in India and abroad to design products for new vehicles as they are being developed. These strong relationships together with our commitment to continuous innovation enable us to offer a complete line of OE quality belts for the automotive aftermarket.
