Being pregnant is exhausting and many pregnant women endure the aches, pains and discomforts of pregnancy. Realistically women are not as comfortable during pregnancy as they were before they became pregnant. However there are a few tidbits that will make a pregnant mom more relaxed and comfortable as the pregnancy progresses.

Maternity clothes have come a long way from the obvious “A” line blouses and dresses, with buttons and bows down the front. As adorable as they were 50 years ago, they are not attractive for today’s mother-to-be. The woman of today can be proud of her belly bump and wear attractive clothing to go along with her changing body. Comfortable clothing of today also allows the woman to breathe naturally without feeling like she is hiding something shameful. They can embrace the transition from regular clothes to maternity.

Some women find multiple pillows are there new best friends. Once the baby is born feeding pillows make it easier for mom to hold her bundle of joy in her arms. Post natal underwear also adds support and comfort before transitioning back into regular underwear.

Toward the end of pregnancy, the ankles and feet swell whenever a mom-to-be is on her feet to long. Keeping them elevated as often as possible reduces the swelling and some of the aches and pains will subside.

Eating regularly

Eating three-meals-a-day plus snacks in between may ease morning sickness during the first trimester. Indigestion can occur or heartburn if a new mom does not eat properly. Getting enough fluids is imperative because water helps the kidney and live function properly. Women who don’t hydrate themselves can run into complications and end up with aches and pains they did not have prior to pregnancy. If not properly hydrated a woman could end up constipated, fatigued, have early contractions or even miscarriage if they do not care for themselves. Drinking at least 8-10 glasses of water a day will aid in the prevention of any issues that could transpire.

Being easy on yourself and staying comfortable during pregnancy is one of the best ways to have a healthy pregnancy. Proper diet and exercise lead to an easier delivery. Women who are pregnant have to realize their bodies are already hard at work aiding in the growth of their unborn child/children. Whenever they are able to take catnaps, it’s highly recommended.
