Call me a nut, a conspiracy theorist or just a person who looks ahead but for years now I have been sounding the warning bell and telling everyone who would listen that the good old US of A is on a downward spiral that will end up in economic decline and collapse.
Back at the turn of the century I was saying “Buy gold!”. At that point gold
was running at its lowest price since the 1979, you could pick up an
ounce for just $271. Just look at today’s price of $1,767 and figure
out how much profit you could have made had you listened! For those
without a calculator its about 600%.

I love conspiracy theories! It's one of my many faults! LOL! Great article ,Udo! I try to always be optimistic and have Faith in the face of adversity and trouble, but I still love conspiracy theories!

@ Udo, That's just me being blatantly honest about how I feel about specific subjects... Most of what you have written I agree with although I do believe we will recover. You should read up on what Tom Brokaw has to say...Just do a search and you will see why I have my beliefs on some subjects. All in all though it is a very interesting post and a good read and that's what I liked it for to begin with....

@Udo > I did understand what you were referring to in your writing and I am aware of the problem as well, I just do not think that spending more and more would better anything. Consumerism is a dead end and problems cannot be solved with their causes.

Rob ... unless you plan on dying within the next 2-7 years you will in all likelihood see hyper inflation destroy our currency as well as that of every other nation on earth. My mention of $1000 referred to "fiat" currency which is tied to the economy any money tied to a metal will not suffer the same consequences. People who would not sell a loaf of bread for $1000 "fiat" will probably be enticed to part with it in exchange for gold or silver. Everyone loves that shiny stuff

Don... the 9/11 bit about flight 93 goes to credibility or in this case the LACK of credibility of our government who lied to us for almost a decade about what really happened to flight 93... it is Dick Cheney himself admitting to the truth of what occurred to flight 93. I started buying sold several years back from $415 on up. It has been the only investment I've made. Last August I sold 25% of my holdings. I expect to see a break above $2000 within the next 18 months. On the other side of the current economic troubles (3-7 years) the next big ugly will be inflation. Who knows what the price will be then!

Hi Udo, I believe most of what you say here but when you go into the 9-11 theory's it just comes off as being just that, theory. Fact is the most important thing. I never base anything on theory. I feel that this hurts your credibility when it comes to making your point. The fact that precious metals have increased in value over the years makes them good investments but using conspiracy to make your point is just not needed...
