The Ford Mustang is an iconic sports car from the US auto giant the Ford Motors. The car which is in the US market since 1965 is getting readied for the other global markets with a right-hand side steering wheel. The 6^th generation Mustang has been showcased during the 2015 Shanghai Auto show.

 

Launch date

The Ford India is expected to launch the car soon. As per the information available the ARAI certification of the car has been completed. The Mustang is expected to be launched on 28^th January 2016.

 

Variants and prices

The Mustang available in 10 variants in the US is expected with fewer variants in India. The one model got certified by ARAI has a 5.0L petrol engine. Exteriors

The Mustang which is coming to India through the CBU route will have one of the most attractive exteriors. A long hood with a bulge on the top, vertically arranged LED daytime running lamps, projector type head lamps and a large grille are the features at the front. Other body features include a low and sharp roofline, a reduced rear overhang, 3-piece design for the tail lamps and an aerodynamic rear bumper with twin exhausts.

Cabins

The posh cabin of the Mustang will have many comfort and safety features. The 2-door coupe which can accommodate 4 passengers will have 50/50 split rear seats. The dash will have metal, leather and soft touch plastic materials. An electrically adjustable driver seat, plum leather seats, leather wrapped multi functional steering wheel, an automatic AC, electric ORVMs with turn indicators, normal Ford safety features like air bags, ABS, BA, EBD and tilt adjustable steering column are expected on the Mustang. Other features include MyFord key, MyFord touch system, Blind Spot warning, a track app which offers launch control and provides performance data on a 4.2” display. 

 

Engines

Three types of petrol engines are available for the Mustang. The 5.0 litre, 430 bhp and 542 NM torque engine is sure to be on the Indian models. A 2.3 litre, 310 bhp and 320 NM torque EcoBoost engine and a 3.7 litre, 305 bhp and 360 NM torque engine are also available with the models in the US. Mileages of 7 to 11 kmpl are expected for the Ford Mustang.

After the launching of the Mustang the Indian customers will have a chance to feel the niceties of driving a really performing car. Though costly the Ford Mustang is expected to do good business in India.
