Therefore, while you are planning and simultaneously preparing for interview sessions, here are some common attorney interview questions and suggested answers that can be of great help for all aspiring candidates.

Attorney Interview Question and Answers:

Que 1: Brief your previous work experience?

Hint: Most of the employment scopes available for attorneys are open for candidates who have some prior experience in the legal field. Therefore, you can very well expect this as one of those initial questions from your recruiter's side.

If you have worked as legal assistants or Paralegals and have internship experience in some attorney's office; explain your job responsibilities to your potential recruiters. Here you do not need to be very descriptive; instead, you need to cleverly format your big or small accomplishments to job duties handled.

As for example, if you were appreciated for conducting efficient legal research on critical subjects that served as essential insights for solving cases assigned to your boss; mention those. They sufficiently explain your job duties along with your expertize in respective fields. This drives your recruiter's interest towards your profile, eliminating others with generic answers.

Que 2: What drives you to this career?

Hint: Now, primarily answering this question is quite easy. You need to explain your interest and reasons of choosing this career profile. However, as a matter of fact, recruiters often complain of receiving some disappointing answers, that leave them with no options, besides rejecting such candidates. Choosing this career by fluke or just because this pays well and other absurd reasons cannot be placed before your interviewer(even if they are true).

You may have different reasons of choosing this career, or for that matter any occupation as such. However, you need to know the correct way of answering such questions in an employer centric manner. Place your talents that somehow enhances your proficiency relevant to the profile.

For instance, if you are blessed with the gift of gab, if you had won praises for your extempores or debate competitions as a high school student or any other activity, present these as one of those reasons of focusing on this career profile right from an early age. The qualities that come naturally to you make things easier at job front, increasing your performance levels as well.

Que3: Explain the current scenario and issues facing this profession?

Hint: To answer this question, you need to be updated and connected to the job market. Therefore, it is advised that before facing any interview, research on latest trends related to the job. Study different significant changes that have taken place in related fields. Also, get some insights on the firm you are about to go for the interview. Know their competitors, accomplishments etc. Here you are expected to give moderately descriptive answers that speak facts and obviously interesting ones. So be prepared.

Que 4: What is your approach to those clients who have thin chances of winning cases they wish to fight?

Hint: Being honest and making no fake promises to clients has always been my prime objective. Therefore, coming across such cases, I explain the entire scenario to clients and try convincing them not to fight such cases as they may be at huge loss in terms of money as well as time. Nevertheless, if they still insist, I try my best to make it a winning scene, however, no unfair means are used in a desperate pursuit to win.

This can be a probable answer to this question.

Que 5: What is your choice of specialization or your favorite graduation subject?

Hint: Having completed such an elaborative study in this field; nothing can be easier than answering this question. Therefore, as a tip it can only be said that, you need to do your homework properly. Prepare well with your course ware and you are almost through your interview sessions.

These were five important questions you probably come across your interview sessions. Concentrate on these questions and prepare your own answers taking reference from the hints provided above. Once you have a visualized image of future interview sessions, you will find yourself to be more confiedent and prepared before your potential recruiters.
