Aston Martin, famous for their range of iconic sports cars, gone ahead to produce two different cars in their endeavour to expand market reach. One is four-door Rapide, while another one is small Cygnet. Unlike traditional sports car, Cygnet is designed to drive in busy metro without taking too much space for its small size. The announcement of Cygnet actually raised many eye-brows being quite different from typical Astons. Officially, Cygnet is a luxury commuter car, which carries the manufacturer’s core value but in a new package. This super mini is designed with the aim to bring down the average emissions.

Aston Martin Cygnet has been loaded with all the practical features to provide a luxury drive in the urban cities. It is elegant and distinctive, and an extension to the acclaimed luxury sports car. The model was conceived and designed as true Aston but with some design cues that are authentic to Aston Martin – distinctive bonnet meshes, zinc side-strakes, badge and iconic grille. The model is designed to define exclusivity and heritage that Aston is known for.

This is a two door style car with 4 seats and full width tailgate. It features front upper and lower grilles made in bright aluminium. Magnum Silver mesh bright metal side strakes enhance the overall visual appeal.

The mechanical package has not been changed in this model. It has got 1.33-litre VVT engine capable of 97bhp at 6000rpm and 92lb ft at 4400rpm. There is six speed manual, and gives the top speed of 106mph. It is capable of reaching 0-62mph dash in 11.8 seconds.

The exterior styling and interior detailing is different, but with the Aston feel. Interior has got leather everywhere making it appear luxurious than the iQ, from which the design has been derived. However, the way it has been done looks slightly odd. This is aimed at those who are addicted to luxury and do not worry about spending money to satisfy their fantasy. For some it is cool, while some find it simply beautiful.
