Assist Me Recover My Wordpress Blog

BJ has helped me sort out the problem with my Wordpress blog. The blog is ok now and I am very grateful to BJ who.... I am writing an article about the GREAT rescue soon.

Do you have problems with Wordpress or do you want to avoid problems with Wordpress? BJ is the answer.

I use Kaspersky as anti-virus/spyware/worm/malware/whateverbadware for my PC, cause he recommends it.

Yes Phil, I think BJ has a few secrets that could benefit all bloggers that's using wordpress. well worth sharing in an article.

And, why not, ask him to write an article about it, if he thinks the information can be understandable by us, cause for sure, for that kind of expertise, we are not in the same league as him.

Nnamdi, it seems more complicated than it really is. I will send you a PM with more info. For the benefit of other members, I will say that I use FileZilla, by the same creators of FireFox. FileZilla is free and easy to use.

@webbly FTP is a subject too far from me. I do not know it.

@Philippe I have 26 posts. Yes, I have access to my posts in the dashboard.

BJ is sorting me out. He has already got access to the blog's database and has identified the 3 plugins I loaded on that day. One of them is ok but, I am suspecting the other 2. I am waiting for his update.

This is a live surgery on my blog being performed by BJ.

try to access your blog via ftp and delete the 'bug' plugin, work 4 me :-)

If I understand it correctly, you have access to your posts in your dashboard. Good. Are there many posts in your blog? If not, you could create a new subdirectory, create a new WP blog, then copy your posts from one to the other, then delete the original one, back up the new one, and recover it in the original directory using a backup/recover tool I mentioned earlier.
You can use Windows Live Writer to post to your blog, it will make your life a lot easier too. I use it for all my blog posts.

The problem is not over yet. I am unable to enter the plugin page to disable the small plugin causing me so much problem. BJ is working on assisting mesort it out at this time. However, any idea is welcome at this moment; even if I have to disable or delete all plugins to get things right.

Oh, sorry, this wasn't clear from your article, or I misread it. One thing I suggest for the future is to back up your blog regularly, there are, well, plug-ins for that. Some might be free, although I never tried free ones if they exist. Contact Chuck Bartok, he sells a WP back-up plug-in for a low price, IIRC, that is, of course, if you can't find a free one.

@Philippe My password is not the problem. I am able to get to my log in page but, once I log in and press enter, the page becomes blank.

Nnamdi, you say you can't access the login page? Cause as Abraham said, even though you can't login, you should have a "lost your password" link underneath the password field. It has happened several times to me that I have forgotten my passwords ( don't ask why ) , but doing what Abraham says, I got an email by using the "lost your password" link, and was able to recover the password. I had a blog with my friend Karen and for what ever reason it was gone....
I was able to go to The Way Back Machine and retrieve all of those long lost posts.

It was great.... heck they even sounded better when I read them again.
